It has quickly become apparent to firms that whilst they wish to offer equality of opportunity between trainees and apprentices, traditional graduate training programmes are not best placed to deal with the specific challenges apprentices face in their roles. As individuals come straight from school into the competitive legal environment, they often lack the maturity and life experience of graduates, and report feeling overwhelmed, stressed and anxious about working in the unfamiliar corporate setting.
Supporting the Integration and Development of Solicitor Apprentices at your Firm
Our Solicitor Apprentice programme is designed to give a thorough and empathic introduction to office culture and etiquette, mindful of the fact that many solicitor apprentices will have limited experience in this area, and entering the workplace can feel very daunting.
We address the unique challenge of balancing work alongside academic study, and we offer practical and emotional tools to succeed. The sessions focus on the practicalities of how to maximise learning through positive workplace interactions, whilst also encouraging participants to maintain a strong sense of themselves as they learn.
Whilst the programme is designed with first year apprentices in mind, the themes which we cover are forward-looking and will be relevant for individuals throughout their careers.
